Well, it looks like the Mobile Development community in our fair city continues to grow.
On Wednesday January 19th, (from 1:00pm-5:00pm) WiTech Alberta is graciously holding an afternoon forum for mobile application developers in Calgary. Best of all, WiTec Alberta is not only providing a great list of speakers, but also free food and drink!
What more could a developer ask for? A free afternoon of great networking opportunities, a riveting list of presenters and free food – this is a great win-win.
So if you’re free on the 19th, make sure you block out your afternoon. Some of the confirmed speakers include Michael Sikorsky of Robots and Pencils, Margaret Glover-Campbell of Poynt, and Pierre Lemire of Calgary Scientific, with a panel discussion featuring Michael Sikorsky and Stephen King of Mob4Hire fame.
Seats are somewhat limited at the moment, so do contact James Fell at Calgary Technologies to confirm your attendance and for more details – jfell@calgarytechnologies.com

This looks interesting and I’ll have to see what comes from it. I love seeing what is happening in application developing and seeing what is new.

You know there are ways one can monetize their apps, like
in-app advertising, in-app purchasing etc… I recently heard that Nokia
announced to pay 70% of the end user price straight to the developer… not
only this bt they also introduced solutions for In-App Advertising and In-App
Purchasing such as the new Nokia Asha 303, the first Series 40 phone designed
to support In-App Purchasing…. I think this is a great opportunity for all
developers..
