The past couple of months have been incredibly interesting for the Calgary iPhone app development community. We’ve seen a few apps make great inroads on the iTunes charts with hits like Minecraft: World Explorer and Broken King’s Dirt. We’ve also seen an amazing influx of new developers and new apps being released from the community.
For the yycApps site itself, we’ve seen a massive growth in readership and also exposure on the local media scene, with features on Techvibes, Global Television and CBC radio. The site has also started to expand from just talking about apps to featuring how to tutorials from our new writer Gavin Miller to starting up a new Linkedin group for all Calgary iPhone app developers. And now our list of Calgary developed apps has grown to over 50 apps and 23 local developers.
Our apps list now includes the following new entries:
- Random Type’s Puzzle Slidez – LOLCat Edition
- Robots and Pencils Inc’s World Explorer – Made for MineCraft
- Broken King’s Dirt
- Nucleus Information Service Inc.’ Dream On!
- Iain Munro’s Hotstuff Calendar & Calgary Basketball Academy
- Alexander Le’s TransitAssist
- Capitol Hill Productions Inc’s Special Delivery – Contraction Timer
- Cronologic Inc.’s TimeLines
- FarWest Software, Inc.’s Manifest
- Nubium Innovations Ltd.’s GasFlow
- Konopolis Studios’ Tic Tac Cthulu
- Medimodo Doctor Search from Jason Maharaj
- and last but not least The Budgeteer from Gadgets by TWKM
As you can see, with each new round of apps the list and community continues to grow. We know there are even more apps being released on the horizon and we’ll do our best to review and promote these great new products. If you don’t see your app on this list or your name on our developers page, make sure you get in contact with us to tell us about yourself.
Thanks for all the amazing support!
