Developer Interview: Jade Ohlhauser
November 28th, 2012 | Connor Turner

This was my first app to get significant rankings and my first to turn a profit. More important than the promotion is that Foam Roller Techniques is the best app for what it does and the users love it.

Jade Ohlhauser is a part-time app developer located in Calgary. Over the past year and a half, Jade’s Solid Jade Inc., has released some very interesting work. He caught our eye with his first apps Nukes, Arena Pinball and his recent release The Foam Roller Technique. Jade was kind enough to provide some insight into his experiences within the app world and gave a frank and honest take on some of the challengers facing our community at the moment. We hope you enjoy Jade’s take and you can follow him on twitter (@jadeonly) for his latest work. read more

iHunter Alberta
November 19th, 2012 | Kevin Dubienski

iHunter Alberta brings life to Alberta’s wildlife management units (WMU’s) & hunting regulations.  Harnessing the full power of iOS maps, Alberta’s WMU’s are simply displayed as coloured areas and served through an app.  WMU’s are clickable to see what regulations apply within each area.  Questions like “When does cow elk season open?”, “where am I allowed to hunt?”, even “what’s the daily limit for ruffed grouse?” can be answered at the tap (or two) of a finger. read more

Developer Interview: Stephen Gazzard
October 9th, 2012 | Gavin Miller

The apps that we have had the best successes with are the apps where we have felt before we released them that we stumbled upon something “magic” before we ever showed it to anyone else.

Stephen is an app developer here in Calgary. I’ve enjoyed many of Stephen’s games and he’s been known within the Calgary app development community for awhile. I was super excited to get the opportunity to ask him some questions about his iOS developments.

Developer Interview: Radu Muresan
September 19th, 2012 | Gavin Miller

My games have been downloaded more than half a million times – just trying to imagine half a million kids playing my games makes me feel pretty good about all of my efforts.

Do you know Radu Muresan? I bet you don’t.

Radu is a software developer here in Calgary. I found out about Radu when he submitted his iOS app – Kids Animal Piano – for review. What really interested me about Radu was that he had 10 successful apps for Android under his belt prior to starting iOS development. I had the opportunity to ask Radu some questions about his experience doing app development and I hope you’ll enjoy his responses as much as I did.
